South Carolina’s Changing Shoreline: Socio-Economic Implications

Presented to the SC Coastal Information Network/Sea Grant Consortium Workshops presented in Charleston and Beaufort, this information addresses the investment of tourism related dollars in the coastal counties compared to the state as a whole. Given the comparative strength of tourism dollars in SC’s eight coastal communities, sea level rise potentially could have a major bearing on the state’s economy.
